Terms of Use

These are the rules for using Heard Back. By signing in you agree to them.
Who can use Heard Back
Students sign in with a school email that ends in .edu and can only see jobs at their own school. Employers sign in with a company email and must represent a real organization that is hiring.
You must be at least [minimum age] years old to use Heard Back.
Your account
You sign in with a one time code sent to your email. Keep access to that inbox safe, because anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Tell us at [contact email] if you think someone else used your account.
Employer verification
We verify employers before students see their jobs. If your sign in email matches your company website, that happens right away. Otherwise a person reviews it. Until then you can set up your profile and draft jobs, but students will not see them and you cannot swipe on candidates. We can decline or remove any employer account.
The no ghosting promise
Employers agree to answer every match within the reply window shown in the app. Yes, no, or a message all count. Each company's on time reply rate is shown to students. Companies that keep missing the window rank lower, and companies with a very low rate are hidden from student decks until they catch up.
When an employer says no, they pick a reason from the list in the app so the student gets something useful.
Response scores
Posting a job means agreeing that Heard Back shows students how often and how fast you reply, based on activity in the app. You accept this before your first job goes up.
Scores follow the method on the How scores work page. A new score stays private for 7 days. You can dispute a match that counted unfairly within 14 days, and a person reviews it.
What employers pay for
Students never pay to use Heard Back and are never charged to be seen. Heard Back makes money from employers.
Employers can use a free plan, or pay for a plan with more open jobs and tools like reply templates, interview scheduling, analytics and applicant export. Employers can also buy a Featured Job week, which is always labeled Featured in the student deck.
Paying never changes the rules. Every employer, free or paid, gets the same reply window and the same response score, sees every student who liked their job, and matches the same way. No one can pay to skip the reply window or to see students who did not match.
Payments are handled by Stripe. Plans renew until canceled and can be canceled any time from the billing page. If a payment fails, the paid plan stays on for 7 days before it moves back to the free plan. During the pilot everything is free.
AI features
Heard Back uses AI to build and tailor resumes, suggest ways to close skill gaps, prep for interviews and read job postings. AI output can be wrong. You are responsible for checking anything you send to an employer and for making sure it is true.
